So! God is awesome!! We just did our first successful
class! The center has officially began and we actually had girls. J
Yes we had 3 boys and 2 girls but its a start and maybe another girl tomorrow!
So YAY! Total halfhazard because we had two different levels of people and
Michael and I miscommunicated apparently about the plan for the morning so while
I was waiting for him at home to go over stuff, he was waiting for me at the
beer garden. One girl took forever to show up and we went back and forth for a
long time, but in the end it was super and all you could do was laugh because
God was doing his thing. I had initially told 2 of the 3 boys they couldnt come
on m-f but hehe! At the last minute wanted to change my mind, but praise God
they showed up anyways! So how cool is that! I love how God works! Anyways!
Thanks for all your prayers but got to put my jeopardy game together for
tomorrows training! But really thanks! God is awesome!

God is sooo good! So today I did the womens health
training. I got a call the day before saying that it was culturally
inappropriate J So I tried to explain that it was
important and necessary, but of course there is that thought in your mind
wondering if things should be changed and if I am wrong.
After the phone call I was packing the stuff for the
next day and discovered the birth control pills I had paid 7 dollars for was an
empty box. Bummer. I would have to find a pharmacy that carried stuff. I
remembered seeing one near the local hospital and so went there and they said
they werent open. It looked like it was under renovation. After trying
unsuccessfully to tell me how to get to what I thought was a branch pharmacy,
they opened up their store and inside was an ATM and they said ok, you can use
it. Hehe! Only then did I figure out that they were renovating into an atm
heheh! So I asked again if I could use the hospital pharmacy and they said yes.
So I went there and I kept asking for birth control and they couldnt understand
me until finally we used contraceptive and suddenly everyone was all smiles. So
they they said the birth control they had was for irregular periods and not
birth control. Of course that is ridiculous, but I just smiled and said I wasnt
going to use it but needed it for a talk.
Got home and worked on stuff till almost 11, but got
it all done :)
This morning woke up super tired but had time to talk
to Nolan and then take off. Jodi, our new volunteer was already there. So
spent the first part having everyone do the Heimlich on us. I think I must have
a bruise hehe! But I dont want to look. I almost didnt do the jeopardy game I
spent two hours making the night before but it ended up being a hit.
When the womens health part started faces got covered
and wouldnt come out, the translator couldnt translate and Michael had to take
over. Interestingly it was the how you become pregnant talk that changed people
the most and they started getting over their discomfort. At the end I asked
everyone if I should do this at the other shelters and they all gave a big yes!
So J YAY!
Jodi came over and it was perfect, we had the extra
teacher we wanted. We had another girl and boy join our English class! Growing
every day! I love it! J We established ground
rules on how we teach and our attitude.
Jodi has been working on forms for me, all this stuff
I wanted done but cant put on the priority list and great because she is doing
the research and all the stuff, I just have to guide. This is exactly what I
wanted and she was as happy as could be today because I plugged her into the
training right away and she taught the class and even cleaned the area when I
went to drop everyone off! I am so happy! J God is
sooo good.
That said, I am exhausted. I still have training
tomorrow and of course teaching everyday and need to finish all this stuff this
week! So please pray for me! Thanks!!! Got to love God. Life is grand! J
