Got there and Dr. T had been waiting for us. He was worried this is the village everyone goes to, but it was different, so YAY. There were tons of kids already there. We started registration. Rina and Chumran came and I put them in charge of that with two other girls I don't know. 4 medical students were doing blood pressures and 5 inside seeing patients. Maggie and Catherine manned the pharmacy and Tharanga, Una and I were the attendings. I have to say, after the initial confusion, it was a great camp. We registered 119 people total. We had stopped at 100 so we would be sure everyone would be seen but at the end a few straggled in. We saw 77 patients total and the students got great practice on diagnosis and exam and some on presentation and we learned a lot about how to put a camp together and make it work. We had an over abundance of volunteers and it was great. Rithy did a super job! :) Can't wait till the next one and Una has a chance to teach them the stuff they didnt learn. The german medical students were super happy cause they got a chance to actually see patients and they got to hook up with tharanaga who was looking for volunteers for flood relief victims for this week! So yay! I love how God works! :)
Today was great. Both una and I were tired and we went to teach at RI. Their last session. It was great even though it was rushed. They learned a lot and absorbed it fast. Their feedback was great and the same as WHI. hehe! Came back and had time to make lunch and then the kids came. It was great. Michael was gone to a funeral so just me to teach and Una to help. I have been wondering if B is dyslexic. he's super smart but can't seem to read right and reads God for dog. Una read with him and felt the same way. So luckily I just found out someone is dyslexic and so can get tips on how to help. Also C has a speech impediment and so Una just told me her sister knows how to help so we are going to take a video and send it to her! :)
Went to B's graduation ceremony. Totally didn't want to go. I get so lazy after a busy day. Actually took a 30 minute nap today and felt so good. Kyung suk had brought over vegetarian kimchi and so all I had to do was make rice and we had dinner. The rain stopped so we went! It was great. So well done. I want to do something like that for our kids when they graduate. (or kids of course range from 13-25 :)
God is good! :)
