8th Week

10/24/2012

God is so good! I got up super early today and had a great talk with my family.  Rushed off to training.  It was great.  We finished nausea/vomiting/diarrhea.  I felt like today they really learned a lot.  When I asked what you do for nausea they said drink a lot of water and eat a sour mango.  :)  For what you do with a vomiting baby, they said bounce it up and down. :)  Now they all know what to do.  I always wonder if they are paying attention and today when I reviewed yesterday's lesson, I realized they do!
Came home and got delayed cause had to pay my electricity bill and my motodop guy wanted to pick up his granddaughter.  I really wanted to get home, but couldn't justify causing him 1 extra hour of driving :)
Came home and had a long phone call and didn't get to eat enough before class.  Class was great.  Had them all come up and teach today and they did great and we got to learn how to ask questions! There might be someone who wants to take my house when I leave so maybe I can get the extra month's rent back :)
After class Michael and I studied words and then the students came over.  After Michael went over translations with them, we talked about the camp and school.  It was interesting.  I for some reason asked if everyone was happy at the end and there were two opposing views that I wasn't even aware of.  I made them talk about it and it was really easy to resolve.  I hope this made them realize that we can talk about things and we can work together to make everyone's dream come to pass.
Then we went to meet the student who disappeared.  We printed out pics and went over.  It was great. He couldn't stop hugging me and Michael and had tears in his eyes.  He actually used to live in the beer garden and the boss there started spreading rumors that he was sleeping with the girls.  So he left.  Poor guy.  He's working at a restaurant getting paid about 1/2 of what he was, but at least has free food and board.  We gave him a quick lesson in english, are trying to find him a job, but until then both michael and I want to go once a week and talk to him and give him new lessons! Gosh, he has never been huggy but as we came and left he couldn't stop hugging us.
Got home and I had 5 rheas girls who were injured and needing a doctor! :)
Tomorrow is super busy as well!! :) but Michael is taking us out to a 5 star hotel for dinner!!

8th week

10/22/2012

Life is always busy.  Please continue to pray for my friend who has a child with a possible seizure disorder.  He had another one yesterday :( and the doctors in the UK don't seem to be doing the appropriate testing or moving at the right speed.  Very frustrating and heartbreaking.  Makes you appreciate america's healthcare so much!
So lots is happening.  This saturday church was very different. I planned to show the Jesus movie in khmer but it didn't work.  So we ended up reading the comic book.  I was going to end it fast, but they kept wanting to read and read and finish it and then had all these questions.  Really good ones.
Our students are doing really really well! I am so impressed with them.  They are amazing and smart and such a joy to be around and it's such a privelege to be able to help them.  I can't wait to see what becomes of their lives.  It makes you sad that others aren't wanting the same thing.  I think after this holiday Michael and I need to start going to beer gardens again and recruiting more people.  Please continue to pray for a good invested teacher to help Michael.
The medical students have arranged for us to have our next medical camp on the 4th of November.  One of them has a small pharmacy out of his house and so is going to help me get whole sale medicine! YAY! God is good!  My friend Tharanga has graciously agreed to come again! I am hoping he will just take over the preceptoring part when I leave!
The other medical student has gotten the school all set to go.  So on the 9th we go there.  It's over 200 students we will be teaching fire safety, helmet safety, tooth brushing, nose bleeds and smoking dangers too, plus deworming them and giving them all tooth brushes and tooth paste! YAY!  And another student wants to do another school as well! How cool is that!  And praise God for Ann, her dentistry knowledge will help us do a great job!
I have a fantastic team working on stuff internet wise! I feel so blessed.
God is just great!!!

7th week nearing an end

10/18/2012

Weird day yesterday.  My landlord came over. I was wondering if he would give me my deposit at the end cause I had been told I can kiss that money goodbye, but he's so sweet, he ended up taking me with his wife to a shabu shabu and sushi buffet.  I thought there would be nothing to eat and it ended up being so great! They took me to show me some of the sights and even saw that I liked corn and insisted on buying me some as they bought their kids at home some.  It was a really pleasant evening.  They both lived through the pol pot regime and were giving me their insight and how proud they are of cambodia. It was interesting and cool to hear.  Its amazing how much we can miss about life and perspective if we don't meet people and hear their stories.  Everyone is so different and brings such a different view point.
After my landlord left I got ready for class. Given the king's death and people still on holiday we had only 2 come :) but it was great.  Michael got to see how much they have learned and sit there and watch how much they can do without help.  They  have come a huge way and they are growing with leaps and bounds. Especially R.  Our boy R got a different job and left! It was sad.  We are going to track him down and see if he still wants to learn.
The rooms I had at the cafe they decided to give to someone else.  I got an email in the morning regarding that.  But since they had given their word they wanted to see if they could work something out.  So they are giving up their classroom free of charge. We will have to work out times, but otherwise they even have a place to lock the computers and I can put up my posters up and we'll have more money to hire more teachers now too! Now just pray for teachers! Good teachers!! Thanks!!
Also pray for me, lots of things going on and decisions I need to make.  Gotto sell a lot of stuff and figure a lot out before I leave.
Thanks!!

October 17th, 2012

10/17/2012

I see yesterday's post didn't post all the way, so I redid it. Hopefully it came out right this time.  So my vacation is almost over :) I was so tired that I fell alseep watching a movie around 9 :)  Woke up super early at 5 ish of course :) Was able to get everything ready and say my goodbyes.  Anyone interested in purchasing a resort, vehicles, land and a 5 bedroom house with vehicles for just over 300,000.  If you do, let me know!  :)
So I got to the bus and my seat was assigned wrong and so guess who I ended up sitting next to, the lady who has been on all my tours! We had a nice time. Got to talk about God even.  She asked me if I was reading the bible yesterday on the long boat ride and when I said yes, we started talking and I shared my testimony.  We talked about a lot of things.  Pray for her.  She is seeking God and doesn't know where to find Him.
It was a horribly long bus ride, but I decided not to get off early cause I wanted to eat out at the waterfront.  My entire vacation, 3 nights in a resort, 2 tours, meals at the restarant and the transportation was all less than $200 dollars! Am I blessed or what! i should have been doing these all through my time here :) Now I think I will plan one for every holiday. (just incase anyone wants to know, I don't take money from saveeachone. I am a volunteer, so my vacation is paid for out of my own pocket so don't worry, all donations really do go to the right place)
The king died 2 days ago.  So they decided not to celebrate the last day of the current festival.  They have also shut down part of the riverfront today because his body comes in from China. They are going to have it here for 3 months so everyone can come pay their respects.  I am glad cause I want to go see.  :) All government offices are closed for 7 days :) A lot of businesses were closed as well and they have been asked to stay closed for 7 days.  It will be interesting to see if my students come.  If they don't, then maybe it's time for another trip :)  But seriously I have a lot of work to do.  That place didn't have interest and I needed the vacation, hehe! But its time to get cracking. :)  Not too much time left.
So I was in the mood for mexican but the restaurant was closed.  The pizza place was closed too, so I had indian.  I figured out why I like it sometimes and not others.  It depends on which restaurant I go to.  There are two different ones.
anyways I was super tired and was falling asleep while eating, but got on the back on a moto with suitcase on my lap and backpack and food bag on my shoulder and off we went. I had the most pleasant guy taking me.  Just peaceful being around him.  I really liked it.  By the time I came home I wasn't tired but energized.  I cleaned all the dishes, did the laundry and hung it to dry and swept.  My house is now clean and so are my clothes.  I'm already unpacked and now I am going to post some picks on facebook of my vacation if I can figure out how to do it right.  Feel free to check out my personal page.
Well time to eat an do my budget :) hope you are all well.
thanks everyone who has been praying for my friend and her family with the child with seizures.  They are all feeling better.  The eeg is tomorrow.  Please pray for him.  Also please pray for my friend with cancer.  He and his family need a lot of prayer.  Please pray for them.  Pray for me too! And don't forget the lady from the bus.  She's super awesome!

7th week

10/16/2012

Please see the post from yesterday. hopefully the glitch from yesterday is gone.  If not, when I get back to pp I will fix it.  So my last day of vacation. I was trying to decide between a quite day and trip to the city and mangrove forest vs a trip to koh kong island.  Decided on the island when I heard there was snorkeling :) And I got everything else too in the process! I love how God does that.   First we went to the city :) then we had a 2 hour boat ride where I read the bible, then snorkeling :)  At first I couldn't see any fish and just when I was getting ready to be ok with just swimming on the crystal clear water and white sand beach I found the fish.  It was no trip in hawaii, but it was great and after lunch I saw ones I hadn't seen the first time.  I thought there wouldn't be enough food for me, but there was! I learned the purpose of fins this time.  In Hawaii I though they were a hindrance, but when you are in deep water, it is a real help.  I am glad though my first few times was in shallow water.  I love how God knows the pace we can proceed with and does it at that pace so we can experience everything and actually enjoy it! :) Yay God! He's so smart and kind!
On the way back we all spralled out on the small boat and it was mucho relaxing.  Woke up to pineapple. i had been wanting more at lunch and hehe! God always provides.  Then some bread, followed by dolphins and the mangrove forest! the same one I was going to skip this trip for! Came home and although I thought I was going to miss swimming after today's time in the water, I didn't even get into the pool when I came home. I am done! :)
What a wonderful vacation!
Um, do pray for the people in my life.  I got another email about a marriage going south and someone I care about falling off the bandwagon.  Life is tough at times, but if we hold onto God and look forward and up then we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  Pray that everyone will look up and forward.  Also my friend with the child with the possible seizure disorder's daughter is sick too now. Appreciate all your prayers!

7th week starts

10/15/2012

God is sooo good and knows just what we need and what I needed was a vacation! Oh my goodness I have so been enjoying myself.  Reading, swimming, relaxing without any stress or worry  about what I am not doing! Yesterday I got in.  The bus ride wasn't bad at all.  They had despencibles2 on.  I kind of wanted to see it but didn't want to waste my money or time doing it and so this was perfect! I thought all the movies would be in Khmer, but the very first one wasn't :)
So I got to the bus stop way to early.  hehe! But now I know and can advice people to not come more than 10-15 minutes early :)  I got on the bus and a guy was in my seat, so I politely told him to move.  He had a case of alcohol between his legs on the floor and a drink in my cup holder as well as snacks in my pocket and asked if he had to move that too :)  I said yes hehe! and the Britisher in the seat across the aisle from us smiled at me as I did at him. hehe! Well, as rocky as our start was the guy and I got along and poor guy was getting my bag and putting it back and since he didn't complain, I let him use some of my leg space :)
I fell asleep praise God and the trip was shorter because of that, but we also got there on time! Only 30 minutes late.  The oasis resort is nice.  The room is clean and although it looks old when you first see it, it's great. the pool is an infinity pool and the water is naturally warm and amazing. I was in the pool for 2 hours! and just didn't want to get out.  Had a great discussion with the owner who is so personable. Anyone wanting to buy a resort from a super nice guy at a reasonable price, do let me know! :) he is selling. he's a civil engineer who built it all by scratch, solar paneling, water, everything.  He's a nomad like me.  Been traveling all his life and has been here eight years and is burnt out.  Helped the school, started businesses and gave them to the locals, taught a deaf and mute guy a trade and how to sign effectively and the guy makes good money and can communicate not only with his family now but everyone else as well! Pretty awesome what this guy has single handedly done.  He has a great heart.
I had a super nice dinner that Nolan had already planned for me! Drink and dessert as well! It was so much food and so good I couldn't finish it so dessert if for tonight. Read for 1-2 hours and then watched a movie.
Woke up early and had a super fantastic day. Went on a jungle trek to the waterfalls. Oh my goodness. First we had a boat ride, then started trekking up.  Had been warned about leeches and saw my first one on one of the people from our hotel.  They were tiny but caused her to bleed a lot.  From there on out we all started getting them.  Sneaky little things. got some higher than my feet even.  I was counting but stopped after 12-15 hehe! It just became part of the deal then.
oh dinner is here.
So let me finish telling you about the day.  It was marvelous. It truly was a jungle trek, leeches and all.  And then we got to the water falls.  I was in the water first and also on my bottom first as I slipped on the rocks. hehe! Then the guide pointed out the bamboo pool to hold onto to get into the water with. hehe! We went behind the water falls.  Sat in the waterfalls, swam in the water. It was fantastic.  Had lunch and then crossed over as the ledge with the guide and up above the water falls, crossed again it was sooo fun.  All these things I've always thought would be cool and all on a such a cheap tour.  Leeches, waterfalls, swimming and hiking.
Came home and jumped in the pool and ate my food and left over dessert from the night before.  Life really is grand!

6th week ended

10/13/2012

I thought I wasn't going to write today, but :) So I had a productive day.  No one came to church but I was prepared.  The day started off great! Had a skype meeting with someone interested in taking over, did laundry, swept and mopped most of the house, ate my delicious leftovers, talked to Nolan, answered emails, shopped for food for the trip and was free by 1:30 :) So I decided to work on stuff for the center.  I so want everything to be perfect when I leave and so there is so much to do.  I don't want to be too controlling, but I do want to make sure the future teachers do a great job.  So please do pray for the right people to hire and that I am wise and follow God in all my decisions regarding the center.  Any teachers out there, or anyone who wants to be?
So the official holiday has begun.  It's a 5 day holiday where people go to the temple to offer food to spirits so that they don't get cursed.  It's supposed to be for your ancestors.  So anyways, there aren't a lot of people around.  I was a little worried how I would get to my bus tomorrow because as the day went on, there were no tuktuk or motodops hanging out today.  So I was a little worried. I was hoping to see my usual guy but even he wasn't around.  So I decided to just trust God.  I was in the middle of a movie and just felt I need to go to the rheas.  I go and guess who comes driving by :) So I now have a ride.  And I am really glad I went over to the Rheas.  We ended up playing this old indian game that they probably only play in villages now but apparently is still played in korea cause the girls had learned it from their friends.  Interesting how it's the exact same game my mom taught us when we were kids.  I was horrible at it.  It's amazing how much time we have as kids to practice things like that game and how much we change as adults :)

6th week ends

10/12/2012

God is good! Its been a bit since I wrote. No daily
updates but life is good.  Una left yesterday.  I was great having her but is
nice having the house to myself again.  :)

So our vacation never happened, but since there is a 5
day holiday and everyone is going to be gone, I decided to go on my first real
vacation in a long long time.  I was told the ticket were going to be double
what I wanted and the hotels were much higher than I wanted to pay.  Ok, so 40
dollars are a night isnt much, but for me, it was more than I wanted to pay.  So
I told God what I wanted and heheh! I got it! Hes so good! And the place I am
staying at, although only $25 dollars has super reviews and it has everything I
want and more! Even an English speaking owner, infinity pool and cable tv with
dvds :)  6 hour bus ride but well worth it!

I also booked a ticket to Thailand for the next
holiday! J I got a super deal and can stay with my
friend. Its been 10 months here and I havent visited her. Praise God for
holidays! :)

I told the kids I am not going to around much longer
and they were sad, but after watching their reaction to us telling them the day
of that Una was leaving, I wanted to give them time to process.  They are doing
amazingly well.  So much so that Mr. Rhea came to watch how we are teaching so
that he could get pointers.  :) Praise God! They
were a little nervous with Michael here, but without him they were doing great!
M is translating and she is the one I want to take over the new class!
Everything is going so well.  We just need someone to take over for me.  Anyone
interested in teaching English! Native speakers are preferred.  I will train you
if you want.  J  We put up new posters so the new
teachers dont have to think very much.  If you cant come, please pray for a
teacher! J  God is super.  We have a place, a
future beginner teacher, now we just need an advanced teacher! :)

The house is a mess :(  The Rheas took all the stuff they were storing at my house, but a trail of dirt
is everywhere hehe! So guess who is cleaning tomorrow.  Im glad I decided to
spend the first day here :)

So recently a lot of people I know have been having
problems.  It was interesting.  I sent Una and Michael on a vacation for two
days and anticipated a lot of lone time. And although I had it, I was very busy
with phone calls and skype.  It seems like lots of people I know are going
through problems right now.  Heheh! Apparently so am I. hehe! I just didnt know
about it :) Some pastor has decided I am a demon
possessed nonChristian The sad part is he is scaring people back home that
being in contact with me can harm you.   I have never heard anything so
ridiculous.  Pray for those in Seattle.  There are some confused people there
and although there is little I can do, I know God can speak to them and show
them the truth.  Also, a friend of mines son has started having seizures.  Hes
only 3-4.  Please pray for a complete healing for him.  Another friend is
struggling with guilt and condemnation and hes so awesome. I want him to see
himself through Gods eyes.  Please pray for all those who are not here with me
right now in Cambodia.  I would really appreciate it! Hehe! The wonderful thing
about being a distant land missionary is you really have to trust God to take
care of all those that you love.  And the great thing is that He does.  Thank
you for all your prayers!!

6th week begins

10/7/2012

God is good! His love never fails and I love how He
reinforces stuff.  So just yesterday I was having a conversation with Una saying
one of the things I am looking forward to after I move back to the states is
time.  I feel like I am walking on this tight rope where anything can tip me
over and I see myself being shorter than I would like with people, there are 100
things that dont get done in a day and there is rarely time to relax.  And today
the sermon was on just that. :)  how much we fall
short and yet how God is there.

Yesterday we were supposed to go to koh kong.  A break
for Michael and me and a nice trip for Una.  But there was a storm so we
cancelled the trip.  The day ended up being interesting because we were all
ready by 6:30, but had nothing to do.  So we went to see if we could change our
trip.  When that didnt work we decided to have fun.  So since everything but the
market was closed we went there looking for friendship bracelet string that
Michael wanted and we ended up doing some much needed work.  Just last week I
was thinking about posters and the need for them.  I am a fair artists and so
have drawn stuff on our white board and kept it there but I need the space and
there wont last.  So I was thinking of drawing posters but wanted a real poster
in khmer/English.  Well, erroneous directions led us to a poster place! So now
what I wanted and more! We even found books with  khmer/  English.  So it was
great.  Michael found his string. Una got some cheap shoes and off we were to
the movie theater.  Apparently if you go early the movies are only 3 dollars for
3D movies.  Asian movie theaters are just like American and the popcorn is
cheaper and better! So we saw Paranorman.  Interesting and cute movie.  Much
better than Brave in my opinion.  Bought some dvds for a dollar, shopped, ate
and finally couldnt stay in the mall any longer and so drove home in the pouring
down rain! Soaked all the way but another adventure for Una.  :)

Came home and set up the projector and watched Dark
Shadows.  Very disappointing movie in my opinion.  Very similar to Paranorman
but that was much better than this movie.  It was neither funny nor scary, just
stale, boring and predictable.  Then we went to get our nails done and I met
someone I havent talked to since Jan/Feb and then we watched Bourne Legacy.  I
fell asleep but it was still fun a fun day with no work and dedicated to fun
without any feelings of guilt J Praise God for
cancelled trips.  Had to make it up to Una so I got blessed in the process!

Today has been lazy.  Got up and went to church.
Picked up a stray on the way back J  Hes the kid I
treated for a wart a few weeks back.  Been wondering how he is doing since he
never came back and he showed me his hand. It was wart free! Loved it!

Its three and we are waiting for it to get later so
Una can talk to her parents and I can get my nails redone cause it all got
ruined as I slept J

I put the new posters up and they look soooo good!

I think will do a little more work! J
I just got emailed some work to look at and sent some emails to arrange meetings
to figure out more stuff for the center before I leave.  Tried to even schedule
work with the medical students but praise God that didnt happen! So still get to
really enjoy a leisurely weekend before the busy week starts again! Training on
Monday!!!

Friday was great in class. I was super tired so
Michael taught choking.  Then he left and instead of cleaning I asked if they
would mind 30 minutes of English and everyone was happy.  They have become avid
readers and it was great. B has become so good and R is passing up all the boys.
Im super excited! With the better students and Una helping me, everyone had a
book read within 15 minutes and we were able to review all of last week in the
rest of the 15.

Chores were great.  Everyone really put their heart
into them.  I enjoyed watching and helping them and as happy as I was to have
the center bathroom cleaned by them. Hehe! I cant do it.  I clean the dirty
stuff and have them clean the mirror and sink J
But I guess when I leave they will have to J C had
to do the glasses and he was like, I have never done this before, so I showed
him and una helped him and he and Una learned words as they worked. R2 didnt
come so I gave R1 his chores and I thought he would be upset but he did more
than I even wanted him too.  R of course was great and so was B in doing all
they needed to do.  The girls got to leave early and it was good cause the first
time when they all volunteered the guys got to leave way before the girls.  Now
we rotate chores so everyone gets to work hard some days J

5th week ending

10/5/2012

God is good! Been a while since I wrote, but God is awesome! So the ARMS team leaves today.  It was great being a part of them. Always love meeting the old and new.  Everyone is so wonderful and unique and I am always blessed.  Apparently on the 8 days of camps and extra stuff they/we all saw 2012 patients. Kind of cool given the year J

So some background about ARMS.  I was in Japan, just moved there as a missionary and it was my 2nd week. I was asking God what He wanted me to do in Japan.  And He said to go to 5 different places, one being Okinawa Japan. Through a series of misunderstanding I end up at a couples house for 2 days and the next morning they asked me if I was interested in going to Cambodia or the Philippines on medical missions with their church. I wasn’t.  But to be nice since I was staying with them I said I would watch their dvd on both countries.  Well, although I was pretty clear on not wanting to go to Cambodia when I saw the video I started to cry. And I am not a crier. I knew I was supposed to go. So I went with the team.  My very first medical mission trip.  I had no idea what to expect.  Only that God would do something with healings there.  At the time I was going around Japan teaching on God’s spiritual gifts, but I was starting to wonder about a few things, especially about healing.  There are so many teachings out there.  To see healings some say you must pray a lot before hand, others say you must have the gift or be “anointed” , some even claim certain words said for various diseases cause results, BUT the bible just seemed to say you would lay hands on the sick and they would recover.  So I told God I would not teach on healing until he revealed the truth to me.  J

I didn’t pray before the Cambodia trip.  I was at a point where I knew God was showing me it’s not what I do that causes Him to do anything (like heal people, bless their lives, etc) but it’s His love for them.   I went on this trip a little scared. By then I hadn’t practiced medicine in 1 ½ years in a clinical setting and I heard we would average 100 patients a day per doctor in 6 hours time and all this in a tropical medicine setting which I hadn’t studied since medical school! AHH! But I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  I resigned myself to not being able to share about God or pray with people because I had to be a good doctor first.  Was disappointed but I knew God wanted me to be a doctor on this trip.

The first patient was just heartburn! So I was feeling pretty good! Maybe I could do this! The 2nd though was so sick I thought she was going to die soon.  So as I examined her I was complaining to God saying I signed up to be a doctor to help people, not see them die and if this was what the trip was going to be like, I couldn’t make it.  Hehe! But God is God and He is in control! So my interpreter interrupted me and said that the patient was saying that while I was examining her all her pain disappeared! They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover! Wow its was true. The bible was true in what it said!  So the next girl had an eye problem she was born with and so we prayed and she could see.

The next day a 15 year old girl came who couldn’t see anything, her eyes were moving back and forth and she was going numb on her face.  I thought she had a brain tumor so I told the family that I was sorry there was nothing I could do, but Jesus could heal her.  So we prayed and first she could see my eyes, then my smile, then count fingers, then see I was writing something and then as I had two little girls pray for her while I saw more patients she was completely healed and of course automatically believed that God is God!  By the last day I wasn’t asking paient’s what was wrong. It was, do you know Jesus? He loves you and wants to heal you.  Then I would have them pray and they would be healed.  One lady was very sour and as soon as she came in I asked if she wanted to believe. She said she would only believe if she was healed.  I said ok (after momentary doubt) and then we prayed.  I asked if anything happened. She said no, I said, are you sure? Not even a little bit and she said ok, a little bit. So I said praise God! And slapped her hand onto her affected body part and had her pray in the name of Jesus and she got a huge smile on her face as she prayed and was healed! Then she prayed for the rest of herself and walked out a very smiley person full of peace, joy and a healed body.  That day all but one patient got healed.

I was reprimanded for not going into the stories of the healing this time J and I totally understand why, but part of me just says, “of course God will heal” that is his job. Hehe! But I always hated it when missionaries didn’t give the cool details. So I apologize and I hope this makes up for the other stories J

As for what’s up.  Well it looks like we are going to get to move into the café after I leave! The location is central. We have no contract, which is good and bad, but unless something weird happens I know the manager will not kick us out because he is just very trusting. I of course would love a contract, but really I guess it’s in our best interest not to have one and they don’t want one so YAY! J

Yesterday was the ARMS team day off.  3 were supposed to come and visit and 10 came! I had planned for them to teach English but since there were so many we ended up changing things around and Kimmy had come so we sang, the team shared and everyone was happy.

One of the girls has been sick. Michael told me she might have appendicitis.  I told him no, the doctors are milking her for money.  So yesterday I saw her and all she had was constipation due to dehydration.  Healthcare is sad in Cambodia.  But I am glad I got to help her.  They gave her 5 different pills, none of which she needs L And this is THE women’s health clinic in the Phnom Penh.  Sad, really sad.  I’m so glad I get to teach my medical students and hopefully as they train all these NGO’s better came will start.  But what I am even more excited about is as Michael goes to the provinces, maybe the people will start to really learn and then they won’t believe these doctors and will be able to save their money and treat themselves at least for common things. J  pray for the people of Cambodia  and their health system.

Anyways saw M and then rushed off to make it in time for ice-cream in a coconut! It was great seeing Kimmy and laughing with her. We both needed to just relax and laugh.

After that we were off to check tickets for our weekend trip. Una has one weekend left so might as well make it count. And we had such high energy that we ended up at the appreciation dinner for the ARMS team despite not planning to go.  We went Wednesday to say goodbye to everyone the day before.

one last thing. the one thing that hasn't happened right is that my bible study ended. well today I found out it hadn't :) hehe! all a misunderstanding. so every desire for and in cambodia is coming to past! how awesome is God.

Tomorrow off for a 1 day vacation!
