God is good! A lot has happened since I last wrote. The ARMS team is here. They are the group I came with the first time I came. They are a group that does medical missions in cambodia and the philippines and come from all over. It's headed by an ex-military man turned pastor living in Okinawa. I missed the first day so that Una and Michael could go. I taught class and went to the morning training I had. They apparently got done super early so I didn't miss much and had a great time teaching the students. We covered so much material! I was at a loss of what to do next cause they were absorbing it all so well! Today we reviewed it and they remembered as much as could be expected. They all missed friday because of the rain.
Friday I of course was at the hotel bright and early ready for camp. It was amazingly good to see everyone. It's like long lost family reuniting. hehe! We all had so much to catch up on! And this year with Una and me we had 8 doctors! So the patient time was great. Friday a few healings here and there and a nice conversation with people to and from. Came home and Kyung suk came over to have us review her presentation. So it was 9 when we were done. hehe!
Saturday we were off bright and early again! And it was a great day. I had a midwife student with me as my translator this time and she wanted to learn and I wanted to teach so I had her take the history. One of our patients couldn't see well and so we offered to pray and she got healed. the next one had the same problem so I offered to pray and she said, "what about my other problems" So I said, ok, lets take care of your other problems and when we were done taking care of those her eyes were already healed! :) God is good! 3-4 more during the course of the day and it was great! The day was pleasant, could teach a lot and share God's love! Saturday I was dragging. I went only because I hadn't said goodbye to everyone and it was a good day! I came back with more energy than I left even though I came home at 8:20pm :)
Sunday I was tired. Didn't want to go to church but everyone was counting on me so despite canceling at the last minute I changed my mind and took everyone. Una got to experience a protestant church, I got out on time and it was cool cause the worship was the best it has ever been. The young people were leading. They also did water baptisms and that was great! It was interesting cause the people went into the water fully clothed, one even in her pearls and nice dress! They will have the best baptism pictures ever.
Rushed home and was making food when one of the students arrived early. hehe! So she sat and ate crickets and corn while I made una and me food and tried to talk to Nolan before he fell asleep and I had to go again. It was nice cause Una has been wanting to try the corn and the students brought it!
And with that we were off to training. This was the great trial run for the students!!! They were teaching and Michael was there to evaluate. They did great!! There is one of the students who I could see doing all of it really well. He reminds me of me, so I can see the potential - a guy just waiting to be released and it was cool, cause he was just like me. His style and teaching. Everyone loved him and the students all thought he was great. Interestingly he is the one who doesn't have morning rotations and so will be at every single teaching! So I am excited to see where this goes. Tomorrow is there big shelter/center presentation! The place that is running the whole program so lets see how they do! I think they were great. Michael thinks they were great! Una thought they were great! :)
Last night I so wanted to veg. I was so tired and had been surrounded by people for the last three days for about 14 hours each day. I just wanted to be in my room and watch tv, but heheh! something said that wasn't nice to my wonderful house guest. So I asked her if she wanted to join me and watch a movie. It was a true blessing. I got to clean my room so she could enter and we had a great time. I even decided not to work and take the evening off and just do my nails! Nothing like Xmen and nails!
Today back to teaching, but I feel like we are on vacation!
So the best news. A few weeks ago as I was thinking about moving and everything that needs to happen, I had this crazy thought that came in my head of wanting to do the center at this cafe I have fallen in love with. They reach out to medical students and since I have medical students and their management is great I love going there. So anyways, I took Una there when she came and they gave us a tour and said they were changing their dorms and instead renting 2 rooms for the price I wanted to pay! So I was super excited! My thought was coming true. But big hitch. Another group was almost signing. Just the last minute check with the board. So I prayed and today we went back and the group didn't sign!!! So, Matt has to check with the final boss but it might be ours! It's more central and it's cheaper and they have security. I cut my building costs by 1/ 2 and don't have to worry about a security guard! I am super duper excited! Who would have thought! Pray please!!! YAY!!
Also God has been sending me great people to help! My best friend from 5th grade joined the team and if you have looked at our Facebook page you will see some great changes all because of her and twitter is up and running thanks to her as well! Thanks Pam! And Heidi just joined the team as well! Rajesh is helping with the website and will change our look and make us better and Wing is helping with an ad campaign. Therese is doing great work on the manual, my sister Anu on editing and Nolan in all sorts of things! Thanks to everyone who is working so hard and helping in saving the world, one person at a time!!!
