It looks like my internet device after many issues is working, at least in my room! So maybe I can start blogging again regularly :)
Today we did our first official outreach. Nolan made cards to pass out - one side in Khmer and one side in English. He has been wanting to do outreach but somehow I have been tired, or Michael has been busy or there has been some reason not to do it, but today the cards got printed and off we went. All three of us on a motorcycle. The beer gardens were pretty scant in terms of girls or occupants. Yesterday as we were coming back from the airport we saw two bored girls desperately wanting someone to come in and so today we just had to go!! As we were headed there we saw 4-5 girls on the railroad track. We passed them since we had a mission in mind, but after passing a few nearly empty beer gardens we went back and passed them out. It was interesting. There were guys on the other side watching, one even came up as we were explaining what we were doing and handed them a card. The girls didn't know what to think. Here was a girl between two guys. They would look from me to Nolan but at the end smile and say akkun/thank you. So we decided to head out to reach the street girls instead of the beer garden girls. But as we were passing by we saw a really full beer garden and turned around to go back but when they saw me they said they were full :( hehe! but that just means tomorrow we know just where to go! :) (minus me of course). We probably passed out 10 cards and then called it a night. I think God just kind of picked out outreach and place to go. I had thought IU area instead of Toul Kork, but as it was, that is what He picked for this outreach and tomorrows. So they must need it more :) Pray for us as we start! I am super excited and just want to be able to help the men, women and children. It was sad, cause even the pimps are so young. I was a little suprised how old some of the girls were and also saddened by how young others were. But really it was how young and innocent and sweet looking the pimps were. That is what suprised me the most.
Other than that, my mop works really well. Nolan mopped my whole bottom floor. I am thinking of getting a maid. The two-four hours I spend cleaning every week can be spent working instead. I have been holding out but it's all starting to get too much. Apparently given how cheap it is to have a part time maid everyone has one, but I have wanted to do it all myself. :) but there is a lady who needs a job and I am into streamlining because I have a LOT to do! Anyone interested in helping put together the curriculum - writing/pictures or editting? Any social workers, counsellors, grant writers, teachers or entrepreneurs out there?
