So
God is soooo awesome! So we did outreach on Friday and I was beside myself with
joy!! Before going I had just asked God to lead us to the right beer garden and
that there be one person who wanted help.
So after going back and forth and on a different street than we had
planned when we got on the motodop, we ended up at a beer garden that was
definitely of God’s choosing. One girl was sooo happy at what we had to offer
and even made me a tissue flower.
We told them we would be there at 1pm on Wednesday and so Kimmy and I
went all happy and excited and were there promptly at 1 and they didn’t show up
or answer their phones. Both phones were switched off and in fact Kimmy wasn’t
able to get a hold of the happy one at all! So we waited and waited and talked
and had a good time. But both of us
were a tad bit disappointed. I had
been so sure her interest was genuine.
So why was her phone off and why didn’t she come?
There was no one at the beer garden and so when the caretaker saw us
standing there and not leaving he came out and gave us the chairs the girls sit
on. Hehe! So I took a picture of
Kimmy and me on the chairs and joked around that we would attract all the guys
to come early J
So we went home after waiting for 40-45 minutes.
Michael had made copies of the girl’s pictures that we had taken so I
decided I would at least go at night and give them to them.
Bummer that they didn’t want to come… but maybe they would come if I
invited them again and set a closer date. Michael advised that instead of putting
all our eggs into one basket we would go to a bunch of beer gardens.
I got a lot of money (since our last outing cost about $20), we were late
in starting, but off we went around 8pm.
I got there and said Michael didn’t need to come in, that it would be a
quick drop off. But the sad girl
saw me and she was so happy with her picture and then I asked where the other
one was and she was with a customer.
The manager called her and she came running to hug me and I asked her why
she didn’t come and she said she was waiting for the phone call and we never
called and I said we called but your phone was off and so Friday at 1pm no phone
call, just come!!! And then other girls wanted to come.
I had to call Michael in to do all of the talking and the manager came
out and recognized Michael. When
Michael worked at a restaurant this guy used to be a shoe shine boy and Michael
would give him food to eat and now he is the manager!! Well the guys want care
too! Oh my goodness! The whole beer garden wants help!! What a great way to
bring God’s love to everyone at once. Everyone was beside themselves with just
joy and smiles and hugs and waves! I can’t wait until we see everyone on
Friday. Kimmy is going to come over
too! YAY! YAY! Yay!!! Am I blessed or what. Those same little doubts of …the
center… will it ever start. Heheh! I love God!!!!!! It says in the bible He
never takes us through more than we can bare and God certainly knows my limits
and encourages me all the time. I
think people think I am strong, but I’m actually really weak, but God keeps
encouraging me so I can keep on going on.
Speaking of which, having the medical student sessions has made me more efficient. This morning I felt like I had so much time on my hands and so studied Khmer well and spent time with God. Not praying for the girls and them coming or anything I am doing, but just time with God. It was soooo sooooo good.
Everytime I spend real quality time with God I get new songs and everything falls into the right perspective. I get so caught up doing things and have so much to do. But time with God always grounds me and just puts everything in perspective. It’s not my job to do
anything. God is going to do it all. I am just along with for ride and will do the best job I can do to bring His love to everyone I meet.
YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! It’s only His expectations I have to live up to, no one else’s and His are easy to live up to because He carries you!!! The burden is not mine to carry, but His and He is more than able.
So I was talking to Nolan and sharing about what just happened
and I kept feeling like something was moving in my scrubs along my leg. I scratched a couple of times and then
it suddenly hit me when I felt a small diameter squishy long thing –baby
geiko!!! So heeh! Now I am geiko free.
Just another episode of adventures on the mission field.
I am sooo blessed!!! I love my life! Thanks so much for all your prayers and love
and support!!! I have a super busy few days before I go to America so please
pray for me :)
