Save a Life - Literally

Monineath is a little 7 year old girl from Kandal Province in Cambodia. She is the only child of a very poor family where her father works as a security guard making less than $4/day.
Everyone in the neighborhood likes Monineath because of her smiley face. But she is different from other children her age. She was born with a complicated congenital heart problem. Not only she is very weak but also she turns blue when she tries to play with other kids or when she is crying. Because of this, her parents have pulled her out of school because they are rightfully concerned that she may die while playing and having fun in the playground.
Her heart has a very big hole in the middle and her lungs don’t get enough blood from the heart to properly oxygenate it. In addition to that, the main vessel that brings good oxygenated blood to the body from the heart is not aligned well so her already partially oxygenated blood is mixed with un-oxygenated blood further causing oxygenation problems.
Monineath’s parents brought her to a heart specialist in the city when she was 1 years old. They were told about her condition and that surgery could not be performed in Cambodia. They didn’t have enough money to take her to another country for the operation and so have been taking her to various doctors in Cambodia hoping that someone can help. Unfortunately Cambodia doesn’t have the expertise to handle this complicated and life saving surgery. However, Madras Medical Mission in India has volunteered free surgery for Monineath. All they require is the $3,000 for plane tickets be arranged elsewhere. We are hoping to raise this money as soon as possible (Hopefully by the end of March) so that Monnineath can go back to school and start living the life God always intended her to have. If you would like to contribute please write on your contribution that it is for this purpose and we will put 100% of the contribution towards helping her.
